IRA/MERCY

Ira/Mercy came to us from Fairfield California, he was a own/breeder (backyard breeder)

surrender, along with a sibling, yet another merle-to-merle breeding which often results in blindness and/or deafness. Ira is deaf and slightly sight impaired, but you can't tell by watching him.

Ira was adopted out in Fairfield and sadly was returned 24 hours later. Ira has the energy level of most herding dogs and needs a huge yard and lots of friends to play with to use up the pent-up energy.

I received a text from Fairfield animal control that they were having trouble placing him into a perfect home for his special needs. After several texts and photos exchanged it felt like a perfect fix, not always easy because of the other special needs dogs we have, a perfect fit is vital, can't be shy, reactive and has to be willing to except the blind dogs stepping and running into them and this can be very hard to achieve. As always, the welfare of our existing dogs are our #1 priority.

Within a day, I was booked to fly to San Francisco and back in the same day, the flight had to have very short layovers and the weather had to not be hot, lucky for us we were able to get Ira to Montana in just a few days from excepting him into our family.

Within one day of arrival, it was like Ira had lived here for a very long time and quickly became perfect playmate for Benton and Clancy. Ira is enjoying the freedom of the huge, fenced yard, the swimming pool is his favorite. We are so grateful for this lovely kind soul to join our pack.
