Ismay/Izzy

Ismay has had a very sad start in life, she was with a homeless guy that lived out of a truck in Tacoma and was being kept in a crate. A good Samaritan had been watching this dog from afar for some time and saw that Ismay was in distress and spinning circles inside her crate and began to worry about her welfare .... So she traded the homeless person a sandwich for the dog and then took her to a local shelter.

They quickly established that Ismay was definitely blind and had concerns about placing her into a good home and was placed on the possible euthanize list, so the shelter contacted Jen at PACK (People for Animal Care and Kindness) an incredible rescue in Gig Harbor Washington, also where I got Chicken Wing, Monkey, Gus-Gus and Echo from.

Ismay most likely has a condition called Cerebellar Hypoplasia. It is a neurological condition that affects the cerebellum, coordination, and fine motor skills. The cause in her case could be from trauma during development, other causes of this condition can come from genetic mutations and viral infections (e.g. Parvovirus) during pregnancy.

Ismay is a young beautiful German Shepard mix and yet another with boundless amount of energy and was a spinner to use some of the pent-up energy and hopefully this will go away with time. She is so sweet and is happy to be with her loving brothers and sisters here at Angel's Eyes Sanctuary and playing is all she has to worry about.
